Liz was very helpful in every way, always anticipating our needs and proved to be a fountain of ideas and suggestions on how to get the most out of our trip. The Golf International team in Scotland were also most friendly and helpful, particularly Kenny who met us at Edinburgh Airport, helping us navigate the transfer to the rental cars and helped us in the disappointment of not having our golf clubs connect to our flight from London.
This trip fulfilled my dream to play golf at St. Andrews, but also having the extra time to enjoy St. Andrews and Edinburgh, which was special and perfectly spaced into the itinerary planned by Liz. The discovery of several outstanding restaurants surprised and delighted us.
The Fairmont Hotel was first rate in every way, the rooms, comfort and view, the food and service ere all superb.
As for the golf, The Jubilee and The old Course were particularly challenging due to the 20-30 mph winds and occasional rain showers, but being in character with St. Andrews, we wouldn’t have had it any other way! We were blessed with a sunny, mild-wind day at Carnoustie, which brought a very special week to a perfect end. We will mull repeating this trip, next time bringing my son along.
