The name may be misleadingly Hawaiian, but make no mistake this is a very Spanish layout, designed by Spain’s most illustrious golf architect, Javier Arana and brilliantly showcases the man’s impressive creativity. This is 18 holes of golfing perfection, which Arana managed to squeeze onto an awkwardly small site and he has done it all with panache and great style. Steep slopes and valleys help create a very tight layout that places a high premium on keeping the ball straight and out of the glorious plantings of trees and shrubs, while avoiding the numerous water hazards and staying in bounds. Aloha has been a regular venue on the European Tour and recent winners of The Andalucian Open here have included Lee Westwood and Frenchman, Thomas Levet.
